By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Pornography comes in many forms and in today's time is available to anyone. Millions that view pornography in many forms such as television, magazines and of course the internet are apt to be suffer pornography addiction. The media minimizes the affects of pornography on individuals; however, the truth is that pornography does harm its prey. The images that are produced by pornography are made to allure our human nature in the areas of desire or lust and what some call sexual idolatry.

What is lust? Lust is defined as an intense and uncontrollable desire in the area of sex. Lust is a passion or an urge to anything that may promise pleasure or fulfillment when received. Lust is normally centered on self and may be selfish in nature. Lust is not love. Lust can be out of control when encouraged and can take up a person's time, income and interests. Pornography also releases a special hormone to the brain while being aroused. This release causes the images that are viewed to be kept in memory for a longer time than images that are not sexual in nature.

Let's look at sexual idolatry for a moment. Idolatry may be considered the adoration to an object as being a god. Idolatry may also be and attachment or dedication to an item or something. For some pornography has assisted in developing an excessive commitment to sex. When a person's mind becomes like an altar for these type of sexual images, there may need to consider their use of pornography as the culprit.

One may want to consider these negative side effects that can be associated with viewing pornography.

  • An imbalance sexually
  • Thoughts that cannot be controlled
  • Self-gratification
  • Strife in a marriage and divorce
  • Inclined to sexual crime
  • Unable to stop looking at pornography even if the user wants to stop

The mind is the part of the body that suffers the most in the area of pornography. Again, as the saying goes, "garbage in garbage out.
