By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

What is pornography?

Pornography could be considered the representation of behavior that is sexually explicit in nature. This behavior has the purpose of sexual arousal and excitement. The following are categories that pornography may come under:

  • Soft-pornography: Pornography that shows adult nudity or that depicts sexual activity that is non-explicit between adults.
  • Hard-pornography: This type of pornography represents obscenity or a form of extreme pornography. This type of pornography depicts sex acts such as sexual intercourse, oral sex, and an obvious show of genitals. This type of pornography will also depict sexual violence such as battery and rape, bestiality, and the put down of woman.
  • Pornography that involves children: This type of pornography depicts sexual activity between children and children or between children and adults.

In today's pornography, subjects or people that are being depicted are often involved in real and not simulated sex acts. The general public apparently is not aware of how graphic, obscene and violent pornography has become over the last decade.

The exploitation of children in child pornography has also been on the increase in the last decade. Child pornography is unusually offensive due to the sexual abuse of children. Pedophiles in particular, gather collections of pornographic materials over the internet and even through the mail. Other activities include the abduction, molestation and shooting photographs of children.

Pornography has become over an 8 billion dollar a year industry in the US alone.

  • This includes the over 500 different types of magazines that contain pornography.
  • Book stores that number over 20,000
  • Thousands of pornographic websites

Porn in the U.S. comes in third in profits to other organized crime such as drugs and gambling.
