The rise and likely fall of PNoy - Philippines President 2010

15TH President of the Philippines - PNoy

Pres. of the Philippines - Benigno Simeon Aquino III

Like many others who have grown tired and disillusioned with the country's corrupt government in the past 10 years under the leadership of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, a fresh glimmer of hope was seen when Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino ( the only son of democracy icons Benigno "Ninoy" and Corazon "Cory" Aquino) rose to the occasion and took the challenge and requests of so many Filipinos to run for Presidency last 10 May 2010 presidential election.

With his perfect political outcry that poverty is the result of corruption, he led every single voting Filipino to dream of a better Philippines. Indeed, President Aquino won the hearts of more than 20 million Filipinos who exercised their voice through the ballot that catapulted him to the highest position in the country.

Rightly so, the man has an impeccable record when it comes to honesty and modesty. PNoy did not allow himself over the years of being a politician to enrich himself or abuse the power of being a government repsentative of the people.

PNoy's plan to overhaul the education & health system, infrastructure, legal justice and socio-economic status of the country among others created branches of hope for the needy and poor. Whether this will be achieve by the 15th President of the Republic of the Philippines only time will tell when his term of office finishes in 2016.

The first acid test of his leadership happened a few months back when a disgruntled ex-police officer hostaged a tourist coach bus where holiday-makers from Hongkong became a victim of the unexpected violence resulting to some death. With transparency comes the awful truth as it was shown LIVE around the world that the local policemen were not equipped and trained to handle this kind of situation. It did not help that at those crucial moments Filipinos expected their President to take the lead to resolve the issue, but was nowhere to be found.

Despite this, the faith and trust of the sovereignty remains strong. PNoy still enjoys a 79-80% approval of trust from his constituents according to the latest Pulse Survey. But for how long is the 50 million pesos question mark?

Recently President Aquino's sincerity and loyalty to his people has been put into another embarrasing situation when Mr. Ben Totanes who set up the BSAIII Facebook site in 2009 was interviewed in GMA7 news and the poor man was crying foul on how insensitive and unfair the "men" behind PNoy who plotted the extinction of the BSAIII FB website. Not only did they insult Mr. Totanes and its members but they also took the liberty of "stealing" or in their words "migrating" its more than 2.2 million members to the new Facebook website that Sonny Coloma and his big buddies created.

The BSAIII Facebook site is a true pulse of the people. The members speak their minds as they see and experience things under the present leadership of PNoy. To shut them up and not been given the option to choose whether they want to become a member of the new site of PNoy is an utter disgrace of muzzling people's rights. I for one have been migrated to the new PNoy website without my approval or prior knowledge.

With this in mind, I can ominously see how PNoy will fall from grace! If PNoy's Apostles' continue to take the path of control freaks and power hungry bastards, God help the Philippines.
