The Shedd Aquarium is home to over 8,000 aquatic animals. Located in Chicago's Museum Campus at 1200 South Lake Shore Drive, this indoor aquarium has over 60 species of animals such as the bonnet head shark, southern stingray, angelfish, and Hawksbill sea turtles just to mention a few. Catch the scheduled diving and feeding shows at scheduled times throughout the day and watch the sharks, sea turtles, and eels get hand-fed. Also scheduled at different times throughout the day are shows with the animal care tech's. interacting with the dolphins and whales as they preform tricks for the audience. "Animal Encounters" offers children the opportunity to learn about and to touch a Chilean rose tarantula, leopard gecko, African bullfrog, and a red-tailed boa king snake. Lincoln Park Zoo is the oldest zoological gardens in the country, established in 1868.
