Things To Think About When Buying Double Duvet Covers

By | Aug 2, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Duvet covers come in many different styles and designs and so before you buy one it is a good idea to get acquainted with some of the different buying factors. Even though everyone has a favoured colour scheme or look that they are trying to implement in their bedroom, it is wise to remember that certain duvet cover sets and indeed any type of bedding is more applicable to certain applications. The best example of this is the need to be able to wash a Childs duvet cover at regular intervals. This demands the need of a duvet cover that is machine washable otherwise the more expensive types would quickly degrade.

You should look at the following things when buying a double duvet cover:

Material And Design Of Your Duvet Covers

There are many different fabrics that duvet covers are made from. The cheaper end of the spectrum is materials such as nylon and polyester and the higher end products tend to be made of 100% pure fibres such as cotton or even silk and satin. Whilst silk and satin duvet covers feel delightful against your skin, they can be very expensive and if used in unison with a satin sheet set you may find yourself sliding all around the bed! If you are thinking about machine washing the duvet covers at home then 100% cotton may be a no-no as it shrinks after repeated washing.

When it comes to design there are plenty of options to keep everybody happy. If you have a young daughter then you may find she may love a pink double duvet cover for her bed, a little boy may enjoy a camo style duvet cover and for mommy and daddy, a more opulent and luxurious spread may be the order of the day.

Duvet and Bedding Sets

It is often quite easy to grab a bargain double duvet set that makes it considerably cheaper to dress your bed rather than buy all the items separately. They usually include at least two matching pillow cases and a sheet and sometimes even include a skirt for the bed. They are often available in a whole host of different designs and colours and work out surprisingly cheap.

Prices Of Double Duvet Covers

Depending on where you buy your duvet cover and what fabric it is produced from largely effects the price you have to pay for it. For cheaper and poorer quality sets you may be able to find a double duvet cover set for as little as £7. For higher quality purchases you can pay up to a few hundred pounds and more.

The best place for high quality but discounted products is undoubtedly on line but if you are anything like me, you may wish to touch and feel the texture of your bedding before buying. This leaves the shops in your local area but discounts can still be had if you can wait for big sales in the shops.

Whatever style, design or colour you wish for in your duvet cover, there is something for everyone.
