When people think of Harry Potter World, there are many favorite landmarks in the Harry Potter series that might come to mind. At the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida, there are several different activities that relate to the books and the movies. There are opportunities for all ages to have a good time, with roller coasters, performances, shopping and dining to give an interactive experience. Harry Potter's world is able to fit a family's needs and desires  upon entering the world of the fantasy series; and provides a genuine and detailed experience with many things to do.

Rides

First of all, there are three different roller coasters based on Harry Potter's experiences: The Dragon Challenge, a smaller ride for children and one that gives you an adventure tour through the Hogwarts Grounds. In the Harry Potter World, the Dragon Challenge represents the first task as found in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." This roller coaster gives you two options, and you are able to choose between two different dragons: Chinese Fireball and the Hungarian Horntail. Both dragons are on separate courses that intertwine, and the roller-coaster is probably better for older members of the family. If you are looking for something that any age can participate in, the ride that features the Hippogriff is a more family-friendly and calmer coaster at Harry Potter World, and features the Hippogriff, Buckbeak, in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" and the famous character Hagrid. It is a replica to Harry Potter's experience in approaching a Hippogriff in the book or in the movie. The Forbidden Journey gives you an interactive tour of Hogwarts and its grounds and is one of the more popular activities at Harry Potter World. It shows famous landmarks in the Harry Potter universe like Hogwarts, the Great Hall, classrooms, the greenhouse, the Sorting Hat and Dumbledore's office. It provides an authentic and detailed experience for anybody who is a fan of Harry Potter.

Interaction

For people that enjoy amusement park shows, there are three different opportunities for these at the Harry Potter World: the Frog Choir, Ollivanders' shop and a Triwizard performance. The Frog Choir, as shown in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," is a musical performance that features Hogwarts Students and frog puppets for an enjoyable family activity. At Ollivanders' Wand Shop in Harry Potter World, a single person is chosen from the audience to demonstrate the famous process of a student getting their wand, making a good show. The Triwizard show is a performance that shows not only from Hogwarts Students in Harry Potter World, but students that are found in Durmstrang and Beauxbaton in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," and demonstrates the unity that the Triwizard Tournament represents.

Shopping

If you are looking for shopping opportunities or official Harry Potter World merchandise, you can go to Dervish & Banges, Filch's Emporium, Honeydukes, Owl Post and Zonko's Joke shop. Dervish & Banges sells products that are found commonly in the Harry Potter series, such as things found on Hogwarts Students' lists, Quidditch supplies, robes and accessories. Filchs' Emporium of Confiscated Goods has souvenirs like mugs, pins and cards. Honeydukes in Harry Potter World has lots of famous sweets, candies and foods that are featured in the Harry Potter series, such as Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans and Pumpkin Juice. The Owl Post gives you the ability to stamp Harry Potter World-official letters, and can also be used to buy Harry Potter wands if you were not selected in the Ollivanders' Wand Shop show. Zonko's Joke Shop, perhaps one of the more famous shops featured in Harry Potter, has fun merchandise that is used for pranks, gags and humorous activities. All of these shops have goods for gifts and souvenirs for anybody that goes to Harry Potter World.

At the Hog's Head Pub, you can find both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, such as Butterbeer, which is famous in the Harry Potter series, and being a non-alcoholic drink, it can be served to any member of the family. The Three Broomsticks serves meals that are often found in England and gives you an authentic dining experience. It also gives many choices for a variety of people's dining habits and cravings.

I wish this wasn't so far away from us, as I would love to experience the magic there. Since JKR has admitted the books draw from alchemical principles and symbols, I think it would be an interesting day.

Yeah, it's a pretty interesting place. Not quite as big as I imagined it would be, but definitely cool.
