Things to do in New York

New York City is one of the biggest cities in the world. With a population of over eight million people and an area of three hundred square miles, there is a plethora of things to do in New York. The city offers cultural, academic, and fun things to do while touring the metropolitan area. I am going to share with you ten of the best places to visit in New York City.

  1. The Statue of Liberty. Located on Liberty Island, this statue that was sculptured by Frederic Bartholdi is one of the most prominent features in New York City.

  1. Broadway. Known for the world famous plays that have debuted there, Broadway is a popular attraction for those who love a good show.

  1. The Metropolitan Museum of Art. If you adore art, this is the place to go. Featuring modern artists such as Jackson Pollock, the Metropolitan Museum is the center for modern art.

  1. The Empire State Building. Standing 102 stories high, the Empire State Building towers over New York. If you are afraid of heights, this is not the place to go. The building is the 3rd tallest building in America and the 15th tallest building in the world.

  1. Radio City Music Hall. The Music Hall has presented most of the leading pop and rock performers of the last 30 years as well as televised events including the Grammy Awards, the Tony Awards, and the MTV Music Awards. So if you're into music, this is the place to go!

  1. Yankee Stadium. If you're a fan of baseball, one of the best baseball games you will ever see is a Yankees game. The "Pinstripes" have won the World Series the most times and are seen as the best baseball team in the American League.

  1. Times Square. The theaters of Broadway that reside here and the huge number of animated neon and LED signs have long made them one of New York's iconic images, and a symbol of the intensely urban aspects of Manhattan.

  1. Central Park. Surrounded by the city of New York, the most visited park in the United States offers breathtaking scenery as well as a place to walk your dog.

  1. FAO Schwarz. The oldest toy store in North America, FAO Shwarz was founded in 1862. This is the "Hamleys" of New York, offering a vast array of toys, your children will adore you for a few weeks after taking them on this special treat.

  1. Macy's Parade. If you happen to stop in New York during Thanksgiving, Macy's has a traditional parade in celebration of Thanksgiving Day. With floats and costumes, this day will help lift your spirits.
