Planning a trip to Sydney Australia, but not sure what are the best things to do. Here is a list of the top 10 things to do in Sydney.

Sydney is located on the south east coast of New South Wales and is the largest and most popular city in Australia. There are many things to do in Australia and it all depends on what you enjoy. Since not everything is going to cater towards everyone’s personal taste the list is not in any particular order but if you are visiting Sydney you should at least do half of these things.

1. Do the Harbour Bridge Climb

This is an experience you will never forget. Walk along the outer arch of the bridge and see the magnificent views of the city. This is a 3 ½ guided tour that goes all the way to the top of the harbour bridge. You will get a 360 view of Sydney, you can see the Opera House and even the blue mountains from the top of Sydney Harbour Bridge. Not for those who are cared of heights though. Prefer not to do the long walk? You can still experience amazing views of Sydney by visiting the Centre Point Tower.

2. Bushwalking at the Blue Mountains

Boardwalk through the ancient rainforest, in your not keen on walking there are other was to enjoy the scenery of the Blue Mountains. Ride on the sky cable car and view waterfalls and ancient ravines by the glass floor. There are many tours that can take you to the Blue Mountains but if you prefer not to go on a tour you can catch a Blue Mountains Explorer bus from the Sydney CBD.

3. Pat a Koala

You cannot leave Sydney without patting a koala. There are a couple places that let you take photos with a koala. The Koala Park sanctuary is the cheapest option with $20 entry ($10 for children) to the entire park and lets you take photos of the koala for free.  Featherdale park ($25 for adult and $14 for child), also offer encounters with koalas and has more variety of Australian wildlife. You can also try feeding kangaroos at both of these places.

4. Visit the Sydney Opera House

The Opera House an Australian icon. Make sure you take a photo outside the Opera house. Why not take a walk around Darling Harbour there is plenty of shops, restaurants and night life is great there.

5. Have fun at Luna Park

Love rides? Then you will love Luna Park. It is the only amusement park in Sydney. Don’t forget to take your camera and take a picture in front of the entrance. You can get there by train (stop at Milson’s Point) or go by Ferry.

6. Relax on Bondi Beach

There are plenty of beaches to visit in Sydney but Bondi Beach is by far the most popular. Prefer something a little more quiet and less touristy, then visit Maroubra Beach or Coogee Beach.

7. Go to Taronga Zoo

If you have children or you love animals, then you have to visit Taronga Zoo. There are Australian animals and lots of other animals from all around the world. The best way to get there is by ferry, while on the ferry you can take awesome photos of the Sydney Harbour Bridge as well as the Sydney Opera House.

8. Shopping, Shopping, Shopping

There are lots and lots of places to shop in Sydney. Love a bargain then go to Paddy’s Markets or Markets on the Rocks during the weekend. Prefer clothes or malls? Then visit Bondi or Sydney Westfields.


9.  View Art at the Art Gallery of New South Wales

The Art Gallery of New South Wales comprises of many classic, modern and contemporary pieces of art work. After visiting the latest exhibitions you can enjoy an amazing view of the Sydney harbour.

10. Experience nature at the Royal Botanical Garden

Sydney’s Royal Botanical Garden is located in the city area of Sydney and is a great escape from all the hustle and bustle. It is free to go there and there is an amazing amount of plant life.
