When many think of using a glass sliding door in their home, they do not really realize how many ways this type of door can be utilized. An example would be the glass pocket doors, which have recently gotten very popular. The updated version of the traditional wooden door, the glass doors of today have brought a completely new style and look of beauty to the home. There are many who do not realize that a pocket style type of door can be made of glass and be just as functional as its wooden ancestor. The style of glass pocket door slides into the wall just like its counterpart made of wood. Both the wood and glass versions offer sophistication and elegance no matter which room they are installed in.

There are many different uses for a glass sliding door in addition to them being used as a closet door. Quite often, this type of door is installed to separate two rooms in a house or to divide a large bedroom into two smaller ones. This type of door also makes the room seem neater and less cluttered than a standard closet door, which opens and closes in or out. They are suspended from a track in the doorway and they open and close by sliding along the track. Other types of glass doors can be found that will easily blend in with most any existing style of décor.

If you look around you will also be able to find a style of glass sliding door called a bypass glass door. This style of door is normally found hanging on wardrobes, pantries, and closets. The bypass door is designed with two doors that function by one sliding behind the other when opened and closed. When closed this type of door stands side by side with one anther so the doorway is completely closed off. Tracks must also be installed for this type of glass siding door. They offer just as much beauty and elegance to the room as the other types of closet doors.
