If you are looking for some tips on how to bowl you came to the right place, whether you are being pressured by friends to go out and bowl, or you are interested in joining a league on your spare time, below are some tips on how to bowl that might make that experience a little less stressful. If you are worried you will be made fun of for bowling gutter balls time and time again, read these few helpful tips on how to bowl and you will be in business in no time!

My first piece of advice would be to find a local bowling alley in an area that you are comfortable being around the area of and call to see what the hours of operation are, what the league schedules if you are interested in that so you have a good idea of when the busier hours are if you prefer to practice first. After you find a good bowling alley, you are probably thinking “what do I do next?”

The next tip on how to bowl would be to get a set of comfortable shoes and socks to wear. You can generally rent shoes at any bowling alley for a small fee or sometimes even for free, socks are normally not provided so you will need to bring those from home. After you find shoes that you are comfortable playing with, the next step would be to find a bowling ball you like that is appropriate for your weight and height. Make sure the ball is not too heavy for you or you will not be able to bowl with it. You want to make sure that your fingers fit in the three slots for your hand and everything is one swift motion when you bowl.

After you have your bowling lane, a bowling ball, and a pair of bowling shoes, you should be ready to start a game. You get to bowl two frames per ball and there are 10 frames in bowling. Keeping score is very user-friendly. If you are with a friend that better understands the system have them help you, if you are not with anyone familiar with the system then it is really simple. The higher your score the better you do. Strikes and spares are considered great shots, with the objective being to knock down all ten pins, preferably at once.

The more that you play for fun and practice you will notice you start to score better. Before you know it you will be the initiator in gathering friends and family at the alley to play a competitive game. I hope that some of these tips on how to bowl helped with any questions or insecurities you have about playing. It is a very simple game at heart; you just have to go prepared with a set of shoes, a ball and a bowling lane ready. Bowling really is really a great and inexpensive way to spend time with friends and family!
