Tips To Help With Foot Pain Caused By Plantar Fasciitis

Having pain in arch of foot could be one of the worst injuries that a person can have since most people have to spend a large amount of time on their feet. This also makes heeling a foot problem that much more harder. If you have plantar fasciitis, it is a lot harder to heal than a simple strain or occasional pain.

The first thing you should do is purchase shoes that will help support the arch area of your foot. Many of the fashionable shoes nowadays do not provide the proper support need. This is especially true if you do a lot of walking or standing. If you are going to be sitting down a majority of the time, you may get by with wearing the fashionable shoes, but switch over to a more suitable shoe when walking a lot or if you will be standing a lot.

Purchase shoe inserts if need extra support. These inserts are reality cheap and can be replaced as they wear out. Just addressing these two issues may be all you need to fight off plantar fasciitis.

You can also buy socks that have extra cushion and support. It is easy to find these socks at most department stores or major retailers. The socks usually are just a little higher priced than the standard socks that are sold at most retailers. You will find that this can make a big difference at the end of a long day of standing on your feet.

Try not to go bare footed around the house if at all possible. Without a shoe or house slippers, your feet do not have anything to help support the arch area. This will end up causing you to have pain even if you are not on your feet all day. Most house slippers now days are very cushioned and offer good support.

When ever you are relaxing, try to elevate your feet. This will help reduce the swelling in your feet and should help to eliminate some pain and discomfort.

Whenever you are having pain and swelling, you should take some over the counter pain medicine and apply ice to the area that is hurting. Even though these seem like very simple things to do, they are very effective in relieving the pain in arch of foot and by taking some simple actions, you may be able to keep from getting plantar fasciitis or at least control some of the pain that is associated with plantar fasciitis.

Some people can sometimes be very successful at a self treatment program of treatment for plantar fasciitis by learning the techniques that doctors and physical therapist use to treat people that have foot pain.
