Tips for Dry Skin Care

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Dry skin is often a mild condition, but if not checked, it can turn into severe conditions such as Dermatitis, Ichthyosis or Eczema. To cure dry skin effectively, you should know how to recognize the condition. Dry skin is recognizable by its appearance, which is usually tight, rough and dull.

To do effective dry skin care, it is important to know what causes the condition to be able to take care of the problem even before it starts. Dry skin is caused by the epidermal cells in the skin dying before they can reach the outer layer of the skin due to one reason or the other.

For effective dry skin care, you should scale down on baths and showers to at least once per day or less. The baths and showers can be replaced by sponge baths on armpits and other odor-causing parts of the body. This is because cleansing the skin usually strips away sebum and the skin's natural moisturizing factors. It is advisable to wash the skin, especially the face that is exposed to the elements, during the evening. This is because doing so in the morning will not give the skin sufficient time to recover its defenses.

After washing the skin, you should rinse off thoroughly because soap usually leaves a film on the skin after it has dried off. To remove all soap, most doctors recommend that you rinse off the face with 15 to 25 splashes.

When doing skin care for dry skin, you should be very careful about washcloths and towels, especially face towels. This is because these can further irritate the skin if they are not used properly or if they are not made from the right material. The best way to use washcloths and towels is to pat the skin and to avoid rubbing.

You should always keep the house cool because overheated houses are one of the main causes of dry skin, especially during winter months.

When choosing dry skin care products such as moisturizers, you should consider your skin type because what works for one person may not work for you. Natural skin care creams and moisturizers are the best because they are made from organic substances, meaning there is less risk of side effects such as rashes and irritations. Your doctor or dermatologist can assist you in this. The skin cream should be applied two to three times per day.

Finally, you should eat right and exercise for effective dry skin care. The diet should consist of a lot of vegetables and fruits as well as some raw healthy fats. Exercising will increase your blood flow and this means there will be more oxygen and nutrients on the skin.
