Sore throat can be extremely uncomfortable, but if you get a sudden or severe sore throat with a fever then it could very well be strep throat.  Your glands are usually swollen making it difficult to swallow.  There a few sore throat remedies you can do to help out this awful throat infection.  I hope you find these tips helpful.

Things You Will Need

  Chicken soup
lemon and honey
1 tablespoon of salt

Step 1 First thing you should do for your sore throat is to avoid any smoke or fumes.  It will only make it worse.  In fact, second hand smoke usually increased the risk of a sore throat becoming strep throat infection.  This is also the case with fumes from fresh pain or household cleaning products.
Step 2 If you have a sore throat that last more than 3 days, then you should definitely see the doctor to have a strep throat test.  This is where they take a swab sample from your throat and tonsils.  The doctor can normally give you the results in as little as 10 minutes.  The doctor will give you a prescription for some antibiotics to target the throat infection.  However, if this treatment doesn't help, there is a chance it could be mononucleosis, which is a virus that causes throat pain but requires a different treatment than the one for strep throat.

Some of the best all time cures or sore throat remedies are:
The old fashioned Chicken soup
Another great soother for a sore throat is warm water with lemon and honey.
Also dissolve 1 tablespoon of salt  in 1 cup of warm water to gargle.
