As you coast through life you may find that you are not accomplishing your dreams. For many people dreams will remain unaccomplished and they will die with regret in their heart for not attempting to do what they knew they could have done with their life.
It is not that these people failed because they were not able to accomplish their goals, but these people failed instead because they did not even attempt to live out their goals. You only live once so put down the television remote, plan out what you want and how you will get there, and then seriously attempt to reach these goals. No half-assed attempts at trying to make your dreams come alive in your head while daydreaming yet not doing anything to reach these goals when you are awake. Here are some tips on how to accomplish your goals in life.
Know What You WantCredit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kanuhawaii/7896635234/
You need to truly know what you want to do in life. You may joke around about opening up a strip club with your buddies, but if you look deep into your heart you may realize that what you actually want to be is a fireman.
After you think you have figured out what you want to do with your life then it is vital that you get some on the job education to learn what the career choice is really like. If you want to be a fireman then go spend some time with your local fire department asking them questions, watching what they do, and seeing if this is what you really want to do.
Writing your goals down in a notebook will help you to make lists of thinks you may want to do with your life, but more importantly a notebook will help you to map out your goals and the baby steps you need to take in order to reach your goals.
If you want to be a fireman then you will research firefighter jobs, firemen training, and everything else associated with the career choice you want. When you visited your local fire station I hope you properly networked and made some good contacts. You can call these new friends and associates up to ask further advice and even get them to put in a good word for you as a reference on your resume.
Using a notebook is much more personal than simply typing your stuff out on a computer. A notebook will also allow you to get comfortable and focus and reflect on your life without being straddles to a computer chair and desk.

You know your long-term goal is to be firemen (Or Whatever You Desire) and now you are going to set mini goals so that you can break it down and work towards your goals. If you need to lose weight, take some college classes, polish up your resume, etc. then simply jot down everything you need to do to meet the demands of your dream career and then go back over it and write down how you can accomplish each little piece of the puzzle. It may seem overwhelming but if you break it down into bite sized chunks then and do not focus on how much you have to do overall then you will begin to make some awesome progress as you progress towards your dream career.

Many people will doubt that you can accomplish your dreams and they will make it know also. “Oh you could never be a….yadda yadda yadda”. Ignore these people and keep striving to accomplish your goals in life. Think BigCredit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dexxus/3017515135/
I’m not going to tell you that you can accomplish anything because you can’t. If you are an illegal immigrant to the United States and have a large arrest history for committing crimes then your chances of ever becoming President of the United States is absolutely zero. It will not happen, period. You can however think bigger than you ever have before. If your family historically has been general laborers at a factory then there is no reason you cannot set a goal of going to college and becoming something more such as a Dentist. Regardless of your dreams in life it is vital that you set goals and then work towards these goals so you can accomplish your dreams. You can do it if you follow the tips in this article and get your butt off of the couch. Yes, you can do this.
