Tips to Eliminate Debt

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Getting out of debt can be on of the hardest things you can attempt to do. It can, at times, seem like a nevereding struggle. Getting out of debt can happen, it just takes some consistency and perseverence. Here are a few ways to help you eliminate your credit card debt.

Pay extra if you can

Increase the amounts you can pay on your card each month. Make an extra payment throughout the month. It doesn't have to be for the full amount. The sooner you can tackle the interest on your card, the sooner you can hit the principle and get the card paid off. It's the same idea as making an extra payment on a house. It's when the interest is paid down, that's when you can actually see the amount owed decreasing. This is assuming that your payment is calculated payment is on accrued interest.

Move your debt

You may want to consider putting all of your credit card debt onto one card. Consolidating your debt on one card makes it easier to keep up with your payments. It also makes sense to move your balance to the card with the lowest interest rate. This can save you a good amount of money. There are a lot of people who like playing the game of moving your debt around to get the lowest rates possible. Make sure you keep track of your moves so it doesn't end up biting you.

Don't use your cards

This is without the best thing you can do to get out of debt. It's obviously the step that makes the most sense. Some people have an easier time than others stopping the habitual use of the credit cards. You have to eliminate using the cards in order to get out of debt completely, otherwise you will just be spinning your wheels.
