Titanium Rings

By | Dec 28, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0
Titanium rings have become all the rage in the past few years? Why? Well, it is not just for the obvious reason that platinum is too expensive and silver tends to tarnish. No, titanium has many special qualities that set it apart from other metals. To begin with, it is just about as strong as steel and at half the weight, which has made it an invaluable asset in the aircraft industry as well as for a myriad of surgical applications including cochlear implants. Moreover, titanium is a spectacularly beautiful metal.

Any woman would be thrilled to have a titanium engagement ring. Ahava Jewelers makes a titanium band with a one-carat diamond solitaire for about $2000 and it has the look of platinum or white gold. TiRings is another company that specializes in titanium engagement and wedding rings and they offer rings set with either diamonds or the equally sparkly and stunning white sapphires.

However, that does not mean that you have to have a diamond or other precious stone. If you are looking for a starter engagement ring or wedding set, you would do well to investigate a good quality cubic zirconium set in titanium. Both Perry Olson and ClassyMetals carry a wide variety of titanium CZ rings for men and women beginning at around $70. Of course, as your finances improve, you could always replace the cubic zirconium with a real diamond, since you know the titanium band will last forever.

Titanium is not limited to engagement or wedding rings. Absolute Titanium Design specializes in black titanium rings with a wide selection for men. Made by local artisans, these rings come inlaid with color designs, studded with stones of your choice, or just a plain glossy black band. At once very masculine and very stylish, these are terrific gifts for a man.

Both men and women will be impressed by the Boone Titanium ring line. Bruce Boone started Boone Technologies in order to manufacture titanium cogs for bicycles. The response was enormous and Bruce went on to great success making bike parts, but then he and his wife branched out into jewelry, starting with bike cog earrings and the rest is history. Titanium chain rings, pendants and wedding rings soon overtook the bike parts business. Now they make some spectacular titanium rings embedded with bits of meteorite. Consider a titanium tension set with a stone that is actually a small chunk of the 4 billion year old Gibeon meteorite that was discovered in 1838 in Namibia, Africa. For $840, you can have a lifetime conversation piece, not to mention a little bit of space history.

There is an endless variety of titanium rings on the market, ranging in price from $25 to $2500 and beyond. Gleaming black or shiny silver, mixed with tungsten, inlaid with hardwood, studded with diamonds, smothered in sapphires, set with turquoise, carved and colored, or just plain, titanium is a space age metal that will serve you well with a unique beauty and style that is meant to last forever.
