As you can see, the Toaster Strudel nutrition facts are virtually the same throughout all four of the flavors listed above.  This means that there isn't any nutritional value in the filling itself.  It is simply an artificially flavored substance that is packed with sugar in order for it to become edible.  It is basically having dessert for breakfast, which is a main reason why people like them.

The Toaster Strudel calorie breakdown, based on the nutrition facts, is 61% carbohydrates, 33% fat and 6% protein.  Also, the nutritional content is based on one pastry.  I feel pretty confident in saying that most people don't eat only one of these toaster pastries; more often than not they eat two.  The nutritional data looked pretty bad for a single serving, it's obviously even worse if you eat two pastries.  For the blueberry flavor, that would come out to  340 calories, 126 calories from fat, 14 grams of total fat, 6 grams of saturated fat, 10 mg of cholesterol, 340 mg of sodium, 50 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of dietary fiber, 18 grams of sugar and 6 grams of protein.  Those are some pretty alarming numbers.

Please take a minute and really look at the Toaster Strudel nutrition facts if you eat these for breakfast, as a snack, or if you make them a breakfast option for your children or family.  A sugary breakfast filled with carbohydrates is not a good way for any person to start out their day.  They may be convenient, but I would much rather take a little extra time in the morning to prepare something with actual nutritional value.  There are healthy cereals, oatmeal, eggs or egg whites, or something as simple as fruit that would be a much better breakfast option for you and your family.  With all of the technology we have at our fingertips, it's very easy to find healthy food options.
