Top 10 Disney World Rides

The Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World is the largest and most-visited resort in the entire world.  Every year, families across the world visit Disney World and every year, millions of special memories are made.  If you are planning a trip to Disney World, there are a few things that you should keep in mind.  There are several different theme parks at Disney; the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom.  Out of all of these different parks, the Magic Kingdom is by far the most recognizable.  The Magic Kingdom is gigantic, and split up into many different sections and themes.  It is quite a daunting task to try and take on every single attraction at Disney World's Magic Kingdom.  Long lines and big crowds almost makes this nearly impossible, even with the addition of several Fast Pass machines that help you get to the front of the line at a designated time.  Instead of trying to tackle the entire park at random, I've made a list of the top 10 Disney World rides that you should check out at the Magic Kingdom.

1. Space Mountain

Space Mountain

Space Mountain is one of the few actual roller coasters that exist within The Magic Kingdom.  It is an absolute must to ride, as it is one of the Magic Kingdom's signature "mountain" rides.  Space Mountain is an indoor roller coaster that's incredibly fast and takes some pretty sharp turns.  The ride doesn't get too crazy, and doesn't go upside down at any point, but it's still an intense ride that's very fun.

2. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Thunder Mountain

This railroad roller coaster is very similar to Space Mountain, as far as intense speed and sharp curves, but it's on an outdoor track that weaves through a crafted mountain.  This is the second "mountain" roller coaster of Disney World, and is one of the top 10 Disney World rides.

3. Splash Mountain

Splash Mountain

The third "mountain" ride at Disney World's Magic Kingdom is Splash Mountain.  Splash Mountain is a log flume ride that follows the story of animatronic figures, then results in a large splash.  This ride will definitely make you soaking wet, so be sure to pack a towel.

4. The Haunted Mansion

Haunted Mansion

There's nothing more fun for some of us than being scared.  This ride isn't fast paced, but it's a tour of a haunted mansion in a small moving cart.  You'll see different animatronic and hologram versions of ghosts throughout this ride at Disney World.  It's a fun, crazy ride that definitely goes in the top 10 Disney World rides.

5. Pirates of The Caribbean

The Pirates of The Caribbean ride actually outdates the successful movie franchise.  The ride is a water ride, in which you get into a wooden  boat and sell through a fake town that is being pillaged by animatronic pirates.  It's a fun, interesting, sight-seeing kind of ride.  Disney World's Magic Kingdom has actually incorporated several different elements from the Pirates of The Caribbean movies into the ride.  It is one of Disney World's Top 10 rides, and is one of the staples for the theme park.

6. The Jungle Cruise

Jungle Cruise

This right isn't exactly a thrill, but it is very interesting and one of the standards at the Magic Kingdom.  Several people ride on a boat and a park worker commentates on the different robotic animals that are in the water, tribesmen, and scenes that you experience on your journey through the jungle. It's a fun ride that's usually well shaded, which is really nice for the warm days that Orlando can bring.

7. It's a Small World

Small World

It's a Small World is another boat style ride that goes through an indoor area.  The ride features several child-like puppets that sing a song (that I'm sure you know the words to) while displaying different cultural elements from the countries that they represent.  This is an amazing ride for children, and somewhat entertaining for adults as well.  It's one of the classic Disney World rides, and one of the top 10 rides at the theme park.

8. Mad Tea Party

Mad Tea Party

This is another classic Magic Kingdom ride that is one of the most notable attractions that Disney World has.  The tea cups spin around and then move about around the floor, in a pseudo-scrambler fashion.  It's a fun ride that can be enjoyed by the entire family.

9. Stitch's Great Escape

This isn't necessarily a ride, but more of a living theater experience.  It centers around an alien (Stitch, from Disney's "Lilo & Stitch") and an evil alien that escapes from it's prison.  You become a part of the attraction as you witness the different events that unfold.  This is a fun experience that is sure to give people of every age a good time, and is one of the top 10 rides at Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

10. Dumbo The Flying Elephant

Dumbo The Flying Elephant is a classic Disney World Magic Kingdom ride that is excellent for children.  You soar in the air during this ride, and it is the equivalant of a fun, magical experience that the Magic Kingdom is known for offering.  It is one of the quintessential Disney World rides, and it is one of the top 10 rides at the park.
