Check out the hottest games coming to Xbox this year and next
The rest of the year and into 2012 look great for Xbox, with some fantastic titles coming our way. So what games can you expect to be losing friends over in the near future? Take a look below:
Out later this month, L.A. Noire
Riding on the huge success of Battlefield 2 comes the third title in the series, Battlefield 3. Dubbed as the thinking man’s Modern Warfare (Call of Duty), Battlefield delivers breathtaking visuals, fully destructible environments, and heart-pounding battle. Step into the role of a marine in the single player campaign and then pit you skills in multiplayer, this will be a big game at the end of this year.
The final chapter in the epic Mass Effect series, this game will be action RPG gold from the guys who defined the genre (BioWare). Completing the story of Commander Shepherd and the crew of the Normandy, your decisions from the previous game and brought to their final conclusion in what will be a strong contender for game of the year. Whatever year it is finally released in!
Completing the list of “3’s”, Gears of War 3
If deeply detailed RPG’s (Role Playing Games) that you like to be busy with for months on end are your thing, then Skyrim will be a treat. Another title in the popular Elder Scrolls series to explore and do battle in, kiss your life goodbye.
Building on the huge success of Batman: Arkham Asylum, get ready to soar through Arkham City as Batman – trying to bring control to the new maximum security home of Gotham’s thugs. This highly anticipated sequel will bring you a brand new story, new characters, and an atmosphere you could cut with a knife. Or batmarrang.
Brink is a First Person Shooter, taking place on a man-made floating city consumed in civil war. With tension between descendants of the founders and thousands of refugees where does your loyalty lie and who will you fight for? Highly customisable character creation, seamless story development whether in single player or multiplayer, all wrapped in gorgeous graphics - this title is shaping up to be a hot ticket.
More Lego fun from the guys that bought you Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones, and Lego Harry Potter (to name a few). Expect crazy puzzles, colourful characters, and a bucket full of humour.
Wasn’t this game suppose to come out in 1997? Ego manic Duke Nukem is finally back as a one man army in this (hopefully) hilarious follow up to Duke Nukem 3D. With a constant stream of one-liners, bang up to date graphics, and interactive urinals this title sets itself up as a triumphant return.
From the guys who invented the First Person Shooter (id Software), Rage will be hitting later this year. Set in a post apocalyptic wasteland populated by human survivors of an asteroids strike, you emerge with no memory of your identity or objective. Billed as an FPS RPG and coming from the developer responsible for the classic Doom and Quake, you can bet this game is going to be awesome!
