Looking for a good electric guitar under $500.00? It can be tough to find reliable electric guitars for less than 500 but these models are all excellent choices. You may like something a bit different but you really can’t go wrong with these five guitar models. Whether you want a start style guitar, a Les Paul copy or a guitar for shredding metal these guitars all have you covered.

Dean Vendetta 1.0 Electric Guitar with Floyd Rose 

You can find the Dean Vendetta on sale for as low as $279.00 is some places. This guitar features a 24-fret set mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays. The pickups are dual Dean Humbuckers with volume and tone controls as well as a three-way toggle switch. The tremolo is a licensed Floyd Rose tremolo bridge so it’s not a cheap knockoff like other locking nut tremolos on other lower cost instruments. The tuning machines are die-cast to keep your guitar in tune longer. This is one impressive guitar for such a low cost. The body of this guitar is made out of mahogany for a warm full tone. The neck is bolt-on so you can change the neck if you have problems with it later on in the guitars life. This guitar is a very good deal and you get a lot of instrument for such a low price.

You can get an Epiphone Les Paul for under $500.00 in some places online when it goes on sale. The Epiphone is a scaled down Les Paul but don’t let that fool you it’s one amazing machine for a low price. The guitar has Alnico classic Humbucker pickups and a rosewood fingerboard. The body is made out of maple with a maple top. This guitar delivers that amazing Les Paul sound but it won’t break the bank. It usually retails at around $750.00 or so but when you buy it online you will play much less for it and under 500 for sure. If you want a Les Paul style instrument the Epiphones are decent guitars to own and well worth the price.

Squier by Fender Classic Vibe Stratocaster 50s, Two Tone Sunburst

The Fender Squier Stratocaster will run you about $350.00 bucks but they are nice guitars at that price. I learned how to play guitar on a Squier and got ten years of use out of it. You get an Alder body with a gloss polyester finish. The neck is maple and you can get them with a rosewood or maple finger board. The guitar has 3 single-coil pickups for that signature Stratocaster sound. There's a volume and two tone controls as well as a five position selector switch. These guitars have 21 frets.

Schechter Damien Elite Solo Electric Guitar

You can get one of these Schecter guitars for just under $500.00 on occasion.  Schecter makes some great guitars and this one has all the features of a more expensive instrument. The guitar has active EMG pickups and a Tune Pro tune-O-Matic bridge. The tuners are from Grover and the guitar has a nice metallic style paint. There are cross inlays on all the major frets and you'll get great action and sustain from this instrument. The guitar has a nice cutaway for easy access to all the 24 frets. This is an amazing machine.

One tone knob, one volume knob and a pickup selector switch round-out this amazing ESP guitar.
