Bench Press

Bench press is undeniably the most effective exercise at developing strength in the chest, shoulders and triceps.

Bent-Over Row

Muscles Worked: Back, Biceps

One of the best exercises to stimulate upper-body strength development is the barbell bent-over row. The bent-over row requires the powerful contraction of the back muscles and biceps, making it a key exercise for developing upper body strength. It also requires the use of the lower back muscles to keep the torso straight, and requires the legs to keep the body stable.
