San Francisco is a city like no other. The scenic views and outstanding seafood alone will have you falling in love when you visit. Whether it's the beautiful waterfront, or the majestic art of the inner city, the list of things to see can be daunting to say the least. So here is a list of top 5 things to do while visiting this hidden gem.

Ride The Cable Cars

As the only moving National Historic Monument, the San Francisco cable cars are a thing of beauty. Take a trip through the city and prepare to snuggle up with your partner, because these car rides scream romantic. As a true icon of the city, the cable cars are the some of the most significant tourist attractions in San Francisco, and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Single ride tickets are sold in advance for $6.00 and include a San Francisco souvenir. If you're a really good planner, ride these cars while the sun is setting and catch the city showing off it's amazing lights. I promise, you won't be disappointed.

Walk the Golden Gate Bridge

Pictures are usually worth a thousand words, but pictures of the Golden Gate bridge leave people speechless! The color, setting, and sheer magnificence of the Golden Gate make this bridge one of the most recognizable in the world. The best way to truly experience the splendor of this bridge is by walking or biking across it's path. The designated pedestrian path is open from 5am to 6:30pm and is free of charge. I would highly suggest crossing this path during sunrise or sunset, it is an experience you will never forget. Just bring a jacket, because "the coldest winter is a summer in San Francisco".

Go To Jail

The only time I will ever suggest going to jail is when that jail is as famous as Alcatraz. Also known as “The Rock”, Alcatraz is a must see for any S.F. visitor. Made famous by escape attempts, movies, and tv shows, this prison was named a National Historic Landmark in 1986. Ferry rides go out from the waterfront and even feature a perfect photo opportunity of the Golden Gate. So get your jail shirts on and go tour this amazing jail, just don't get locked in.

Grub at the Joynt

Tommy's Joynt on Geary and Van Ness is one of the best kept secrets in San Francisco. Tommy's Hof-Brau style restaurant has been making bellies happy since 1947. This no frills “joynt” offers some of the best sliced, braised and stewed meats you will ever sink your chompers into. Sitting family style at a long table with strangers, this is also a great place to meet some friendly locals! With a good price point, great taste, and even better atmosphere, Tommy's Joynt is a must see in the City.

Spend a day at the park

Golden Gate park is an amazing urban park filled with fun activities. Similar in shape but 20% larger, Golden Gate Park often gets compared to Central Park in New York. Just a few of the parks features include a Bison paddock, Kezar Stadium (once host to the 49ers and Raiders), 5 natural lakes, Botanical garden, Science Museum, beach chalet and more! You can even rent a boat, paddle around Stow lake, and channel your inner romantic side (I'm talking to you husbands out there). The beautiful views alone merit this park in the top 5 during your trip to San Francisco.
