Growing up I remember reading lots of books and here is my tribute to what I consider to be the greatest of the all time.
Here are my Top 5 Favorite Children's Books, Enjoy!
5. Silly Sally
Silly Sally is one of the best books of our time. The rhyming and fun are what make this book very fun too read. Visually the art and creativity of this book solidifies its place among the best of the best right at #5.
4. Dr. Seuss' - The Cat In The Hat
This has been a long time favorite for many people. There is no arguing that this book is one of the best there is. It has even been adapted to the big screen as a movie! That is something that most other Dr.Seuss' books have yet to accomplish.
3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
This book is probably the most popular book by Dr.Seuss simply because every year during christmas season this book is read throughout schools everywhere and is a fun filled adventure about the value of christmas spirit and why we celebrate it!
2. No David!
Truth be told, I wasn't young enough to have enjoyed this book as a kid. But working at a head start for a year this book was by far one of the best to hit the shelves. Kids would argue and fight over who got to read this book next. Its interactive style of reading and great art paves way to one of the best books of all time.
1. Where The Wild Things Are
When this book first came out it was banned and had negative reviews from critics. Though at the time many people did not realize its significance and the moral of the story. This book teaches kids a great lesson about love and anger. I remember reading this as a child and thinking "what if I could run away and I wouldn't have to listen to my mother" but at the end of the book I found myself remembering the gravity of my mother's love and affection. I really did learn something from this book as a child and I have many fond memories of reading this with my Mother. Thank you Maurice Sendak for the Best Children's Book of all time!
