From Princess Leia of Star Wars to Neytiri from Avatar, science fiction is full of sexy characters for costume ideas. But Sci-Fi has also spawned weird and unique costumes ideas. Many ideas are based on famous characters that are not traditionally considered sexy, but have been re-imagined in a different style. These are the 5 most unique that almost guarantees that any woman would be stand out at any Halloween party or convention. Unfortunately you cannot buy most of these costumes in stores, but they are simple enough to create on your own.

#5 Female Storm Trooper aka Femtrooper

The Storm Trooper was transformed from the bumbling henchmen who could not shoot straight in Star Wars to the hero of the Clone Wars. The female storm trooper has been affectionately coined the femtrooper and have proven to be one of the sexiest hits at Sci-Fi conventions. There is just something inherently sexy about a female breast plate. The costume can be difficult to put together, but directions are readily available on the internet and you can also buy the helmet at almost any costume store.

#4 Female Zombie

The zombie is the staple of horror movies and Halloween. While the first zombies were half decayed horrors with body parts missing, somewhere along the line the idea of a sexy female zombie was born. The sexy zombie looks like most zombie, though the most important parts are NOT missing and they tend to show certain portions of their anatomy liberally. The costume is very easy to make, it just takes some make up and your choice of revealing clothing. In addition, some strategic ripping/cutting can make almost any cloths into a very sexy choice.

Some people would argue whether a children's cartoon is an appropriate basis for a sexy costume. But the very origin of the character can make the costume both sexy and disturbing. Who knew you could take a sexless fuzzy character and turn it into a sex symbol? The costume itself is pretty easy to put together, just as long as you have access to yellow revealing clothing and long ears.

Who wants to be a mere storm trooper when you can be a Sith Lord? Unlike the femtrooper or the Princess Leia slave costume, the concept of a female Darth Vader is not a Sci-Fi fad. Some may argue with the traditionally patrician Darth Vader re-imagined as a woman, but it definitely looks good. All you need is the mask, black boots, a black latex suit, gloves and some bling.

Unlike the other costumes on list, the alien queen is definitely female. It is just no-one probably ever imagined her looking like this except maybe other Aliens. The costume itself is simple and so unique it speaks for itself. All that is needed is an Aliens mask, a silver cat suit, some heels and a tail.

Switching genders or species can make for a unique sexy mix. So dressing up as one of the most powerful space ships of all time can be very intimidating. The Death Star is the main backdrop for two Star wars film, but this costume worn by a sexy girl looks great. Not only is the skirt short enough to show off great legs, but the outfit uses plenty of black to look sinister.
