Top 7 Youth Group Fundraising ideas

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 1

Organising a youth group fundraising can be done in many ways, here are 7 great ideas you can use.The first and most important rule when it comes to planning a fundraising with young people is to make sure that everybody has fun or else it will be difficult to achieve the results you are looking for.

1.Sell different things! Start by going online and type in "youth fundraising" in Google and you will find lots of offers to sell sports goods, candles, cookies, candy, pretzels, discount cards, movie tickets and lots more. When it comes to choosing the best things to sell in your community, think about what would be well received in your community and something that everyone could find useful and ready to buy instantly.

2.Organize a car wash! This needs thorough planning but can be a very profitable way to raise funds quickly.

3.Organize an auction! You can auction almost everything and it is relatively easy to find things you can sell on an auction.Start by cleaning the attic, the garage and the house.Be sure to ask for donations from businesses in your neighbourhood as well.Make sure everyone knows that an auction will be held and for what reason, publicise your auction well in advance and invite friends and family too.Have someone with experience to run the auction.

4.Sell things on eBay! eBay is the world´s largest online auction place, there is a market for almost anything. If you have a lot of stuff in your home that you are not using just put it up for sale. You can really earn a lot of money by selling stuff on eBay but there are some tips you need to know in
order to get the most out of it.Go to eBay.com and read the "how to sell" section for more information.

5.Sponsor an event of some kind! This can practically be anything.Young people know what is going on in their neighborhood, let them have their own ideas about what they would like to do.

6.Everyone has a website or a blog these days, why not set up a blog for the fundraising and use it as a message board to keep people informed on what is happening. You can raise money by selling advertising space to the local businesses and/or having ads by Google Adsense or other advertising networks.

7.Arrange a video game tournament! You will need a lot of TV sets and game consoles but these are quite simple to line up.Do a tournament bracket with elimination matches that ultimately leads to a championship. You can make money by selling drinks and food.

Another way to make money is to have silent auctions of donated goods or services.Ask video game retailers if they would be interested in sponsoring your tournament. Some retailers probably will
be interested because the funds are going to a good cause and they are getting the word out about their business.
