Top Classic Rock Songs

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

To compile a list like Top Classic Rock Songs you must first decide on what makes a particular song 'top'. Is it the longest it held the highest position in the charts? Most requested for airplay? Sold most copies?... I don't believe any of these things matter in the slightest. What really matters whether a song stands the test of time. Whether it is still as fantastic 30 years plus later from the day it first came out, and how much influence it had on other music and generations.

Lists can be put together, but for everyone they will be different because different songs will mean different things for everyone, also they won't be in numerical order as it's a matter of opinion to say that certain great songs are any greater than other great songs.

A Collection Of The Top Classic Rock Songs

We shall open with the Godfather and pioneer of Rock and Roll.

CHUCK BERRY - Johnny B. Goode

Recorded in 1958 and still amazing, an example of what a rock and roll song should be.
Continuing on we have the most obvious and pretty standard choice for 'Classic Rock'

LED ZEPPELIN - Stairway To Heaven

This eight minute roller-coaster masterpiece always seems to find itself at the top of the classic rock lists. Other great tracks from Led Zeppelin include Rock and Roll and Whole Lotta Love.

THE ROLLING STONES - Sympathy For The Devil

Or I Can't Get No Satisfaction. So many tracks too choose from the mighty rock legends so we'll include Paint It Black, Brown Sugar and Jumpin' Jack Flash too.
