Screen Shots

From the iPhone software version 2.x, the iPhone just like a regular computer has the ability to take screen shots of whatever/whenever you like.

How To:

  1. Firstly hold the power button
  2. Then quickly press the home button, while keeping the power pressed.

Viola, you should have seen your screen flash white and now if you check your camera roll you will find a screen shot of the page you were viewing when you did the above.

Change web URL domains.

By default when typing in URL's into safari on the iPhone the ".com" button is the default and appears to be the only one available for selection. But this isn't the case, you also have the option of using .net, .edu. .org and the default .com

How To:

  1. Within safari go to type a URL in the search bar.
  2. After you type the domain press and hold the ".com" button

Viola, you have now discovered the previously hidden . .net, .edu. and .org extensions.

Turn (and leave) caps lock on.

When writing a message, email or a note the iPhone will automatically turn on and off the caps lock for you when you come to a sentence start/finish. However there are times where you want to just leave the caps lock on and rather press caps lock, type a letter, press caps lock, type another letter etc… press caps lock and leave it on while you type a full word in capitals.

How To:

  1. Double tap the caps lock

Viola, you will see the caps lock change colour and as you type all words will be in capital until you press the caps lock button again.

Jump to the top of the a page

When viewing very long web pages, emails or notes rather than having to scroll all the way to the top, there is a nice handy function that will bring you to the top of the page with just one tap.

How To:

  1. Open a web page, email or note which is long enough that you have to scroll to get to the bottom of it.
  2. Tap once the top menu bar right between the time and battery percentage

Viola, you should have been navigated to the top of the screen.
