Treating a rotator cuff injury
Dealing with a rotator cuff injury can be painful and unpleasant. Sometimes just simple rotator cuff exercises help rehab the shoulder, once the pain symptoms start to reduce. Rotator cuff symptoms are weakness in the shoulder, pain, lack of motion in the rotator cuff. Pain when lifting your arm above your head are symptoms of rotator cuff injuries. If you're unable to move your arm, then you should definitely make an appointment to see a doctor. Extreme torn injuries might require surgery on a torn rotator cuff.
There are numerous different home remedies that help in treating rotator cuff injuries naturally. Prescribed pain medications aren't the only course of treatment in treating pain. You can try moving your shoulder in a circular motion. Also massage the shoulder as well. In severe injury cases, physical therapy might be required in treating rotator cuff injuries. Discuss with your doctor about specific rotator cuff exercises to use. You don't want the shoulder to stiffen up, so exercise is important.
Some herbal pain remedies can be useful in treating pain. You can apply essential oils, like tea tree oil for example to the shoulder. Tea tree oil should be diluted, but can reduce inflammation. Those who have allergies should be careful, since essential oils might cause a bad skin reaction. You can also take the herbal Indian spice called turmeric. Sleeping on a rotator cuff injury is really difficult. When I had my torn rotator cuff injury that was the hardest part for me. You should sleep on your back, not your stomach. Sleeping on your stomach is not only more painful, but you can re-injure rotator cuff. Sleep on your back, and put a pillow underneath your injured shoulder. That way you provide the shoulder with cushion, and your body weight won't be directed on the torn rotator cuff.
