Treatment For Bed Bugs
A treatment for bed bugs is not easy. If you have the unfortunate luck of having your home become occupied with bed bugs, it is time to roll up your sleeves and get to work. If you plan on treating the bed bugs yourself, it can be a very difficult.
If you can afford it, the best way to eliminate bed bugs is by having a professional bedbugs exterminator come in to eradicate the problem. Just make sure they have insurance in case the job needs to be done again or there is unforeseen damage to your home. A crazy yet effective treatment for bed bugs is if it is possible in the winter time to leave the house open for a couple weeks. Bed bugs will freeze in temperatures below thirty two degrees, so turn off the heat and leave the windows open and literally freeze those suckers. Now, that is an effective but not the most practical way of getting the job done.
If it is hot ,put everything you possibly can out in the sun as bed bugs hate sunlight and extreme heat. There bodies are actually incapable of withstanding temperatures above one hundred and thirteen degrees and will fry to death.
Clothes should be placed in plastic bags and frozen for two weeks to kill the bed bugs. Rugs and upholstered furniture should be steam-cleaned making sure to get every last crack and crevice as this is where bed bugs like to hide.
Bed bug sprays should be used on all hard surfaces. Pets should be bathed and flea dipped to kill the bed bugs. Molding and outlets should be removed, cracks in walls should be filled with caulk. This treatment for bed bugs is plausible, but will take a whole lot of work. If a single bed bug survives this line of attack, it will only take a single night of blood sucking for a female to lay enough eggs that, in three short weeks, the infestation will be back.
So take care of your house and when traveling to hotels, make sure there is no signs of bed bugs, since you do not want to take these nasty little critters home with you. They are a huge headache to get rid of, but do not give up hope. It can be done. If these tips do not help you eliminate bed bugs you should contact your local exterminator.
