Treatment For Facial Veins
Spider veins or facial veins are small blood vessels that appear on the area of the face, neck or even in the chest. The often become quite visible and can cause discoloration to that area of the skin. They also appear on the legs as well. The circulatory contribution of these veins are so negligible that often a person can have them treated without any detrimental health effect whatsoever. While is some rare cases the veins may need to be treated because they pose a health risk, they are often removed for purely aesthetic reasons.
There are so many explanations and reasons for what causes facial veins. According to studies facial spider veins might be caused by spicy or hot meals, hormonal imbalance, and too much exposure to the sun and cortisone medications. Some people also believe that this condition is inherited from their parents. There are also other skin conditions that might cause spider veins. Age and obesity do play a part in the appearance of facial veins so you can expect their occurrence as you get older or put on more weight.
The most common varicose vein treatment used to remove these spider veins is through the use of vascular lasers. This treatment has a two-pronged approach for the successful removal of spider veins or facial veins. The first one is with the use of pulses of light that comes in contact with the skin while the other one involves a beam of yellow green light which is used to treat single blood vessels.
If you are worried that your skin might be damaged, it is guaranteed that the procedure would not harm the healthy skin surrounding your spider veins and facial veins. Since the laser light would be absorbed by the color of the vein, it will eventually shrink and thus no harm is done to your skin.
In treating a high number of spider veins and facial veins, it is very important to know that there are many different skin types. And in order to do the treatment it is required to know the skin type of the patient so that the correct laser setting will be used for best results.
During the treatment, you may feel some fleeting sensation on your skin. The sensation will often be accompanied by a momentary sting. However in treating large patches of skin, you might be given sedatives or pain pills so that you would not feel any pain during the procedure. But most of the time most patients can endure the pain, and they can finish the treatment without the help of any medications.
There have been more patients who have enjoyed the positive results and only few who have not gotten the results that they were expecting. There are also some people who tried the treatment only once and their problem with the spider veins and facial veins were totally solved. Although this does not happen to everyone, most cases require several sessions before the expected result will be achieved. But you can see a definite improvement after the first session. The full effect of the treatment will not be completely seen until the discoloration from the treatment disappears.
After the treatment, it is best if the area where the treatment was performed be protected and should not be exposed to the sun. It should also be cleaned and antibiotic ointments should be applied over it for faster healing and to protect the area. It is possible that after the treatment a new batch of spider veins will appear again. And this time a deeper reason might be the cause of why it reappears. Treating the underlying condition will solve the problem and there will be no more possible reappearance of spider veins.
Another issue that women often have problems with and want to handle is varicose vein removal. These veins are the ones that bulge from the skin. They can be a real health problem if there is varicose vein pain. If your leg swells or you have a hard time sleeping or walking because of these things, then you should get something done about it right away. It is possible that you could develop a thrombosis or blood clot.
There is a procedure you can get to handle varicose veins. One of the treatments is stripping of the vein or removing of it and tying it off to another. The other is called Sclerotherapy. This method has evolved over the years and is now done with a laser. The laser actually goes in and shrinks the veins.
There many reasons these kinds of veins develop. If you have ugly varicose veins or spider veins you can do something about them. They can be terribly unsightly and even be a health risk. There are several procedures you can get that diminish or completely get rid of them. It's up to you and your doctor to determine what method will work best for you.
