Treatments for dehydration

Water is the best nature's gift to humans and is most essential component of our life. Lack of water can cause dehydration and when we get dehydrated, our body and brain suffers a lot which may results in several health related problems

. Signs and symptoms of dehydration include:

- Dark yellow or orange urine

- Reduction in sweat

- Infrequent urination

- Excessive thirst

- Dry mouth or dry nose or both

- Overheating

- Weakness

- Dizziness

Here are some tips and treatments and tips on how to treat dehydration at home:

- In order to prevent dehydration start drinking fluids frequently, even if you don't feel particularly thirsty. Try to drink at least one eight ounce bottle of water or more and also add several ounces of juice or sports drinks per hour of exercise. Try to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water per day in order to keep your body well hydrated.

There are people those who are more prone to dehydration especially kids, elderly, exercisers, people in hot areas, people in clod areas, medication users and anyone with an illness that causes fluid loss, such as influenza, high fever, etc.

- Try to eat hydrating foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables.

Treatments for dehydration:

- In order to avoid heat loss, move the victim to a cool area.

- Keep the victim still by having him or her lie down.

- Apply cool, wet cloths to sufferer's thin skinned areas such as wrist, collarbone, neck, armpits and inner thighs this action will help to absorb moisture.

- Give water and juice in small amounts and also give some watery fruits such as water melon to the victim.
