Trout Fishing Lures - Lures That Can Really Lure

By | Aug 3, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Trout fishing is one of the most popular sports in the world. What makes it popular is that trout are scattered in many parts of the world – both in fresh and salt waters. This fact, however, does not seem to change the difficulty in getting a catch. There may be many of them but catching one is easier said than done. They do not just come up to the surface of the water. These sluggish trout spend most of their time submerged. To make them come up, an angler should use the right lures and gears.

Trout fishing lures are always available to help you with your fishing. There are many sizes and types sold in the market. The only thing you have to do is to choose the right one. But which is which? Which lures are the most favorable for your fishing condition and location? Below are just some of the lures which can make fishing easier:

  • Mini Stick Bait – this lure looks pretty much like a small fish or another trout. This will be effective for trout that are looking for a prey. To get effective results, let the lure fall and sink slowly underwater. The sinking of this lure may be mistaken for a dying fish which will draw the trout's attention and make it swim after the lure. This lure, however, cannot be used in the seas as the sinking motion cannot be noticed by the trout because of all the waves. It only works best in small bodies of water.
  • Spoons – Trout are easily attracted to movement so these spoons make a good choice. This is especially useful during the early trout season when trout are very cautious when coming up the surface. These are also good for the newbies in this sport. These lures are available in various shapes and sizes. Bear in mind that spoons should be accompanied with the right weight so they can sink underwater. Its bobbing motion is helpful as it catches the trout's attention.
  • Spinners – The spinners are perceived to be one of the most effective lures but the most difficult to decide on. An example of a good spinner is the Colorado spinner. This is favored by many anglers and fishing experts for many years since this lure allows a gold or silver blade spinner with a hook lagging behind. Another good spinner is the Mepps XD Plain Treble. Its track record confirms its effectiveness in luring the fish into the hook. Panther Martin's Sonic Spinners is another spinner worth your time. You will really have a catch when you use this spinner. If you happen to not get even one, then it means that the problem is you.

Trout fishing lures are readily available in shops. All you have to do is choose the right one to use. Before choosing one, consider the location and type of trout you are aiming for. There are three basic types of trout fishing lures in this article: the mini stick bait, spoon and spinners. Good luck in choosing the best lure for you and happy fishing.
