Turn Cold Leads Into Warm Sales with a Good Email Marketing Strategy

By Edited Sep 10, 2016 0 2

Email marketing is one of the best ways to turn cold leads into warm sales. It helps you build a relationship with the people on your list and build their trust. This is so important if you want them to buy and then keep coming back for more. One of the biggest benefits of your email list is that people want to be on it. They want to know more of what you know and want to hear about your products. They’re also the type of people more likely to buy your products or invest in your service.

However, you need to develop a good email marketing strategy. You need to create a strategy that encourages people to join and stay on your list. From there, it needs to encourage them to buy from you and show your authority and reputation. It’s a fine balance to get it right but here are some tips to help you build the perfect email marketing strategy.

Give People Something Valuable for Signing Up

People love free stuff. One of the best ways to encourage them to join your email marketing list is to offer something free and valuable. It could be a report that helps them do something they’ve been trying. It might be a list of the best paying markets for a certain writing niche. It could even be a case study into a product. Make sure it’s digital so they can receive it instantly to gain the value.

It has to be valuable. Your customers won’t want some random thing that doesn’t help them at all. It needs to answer their problem or give a solution to a situation. It needs to help them get from where they are now to where they want to be. That doesn’t mean you have to create it! There are plenty of people using PLR material for their email marketing sign up.

Yes, some people will sign up purely for the freebie but you’ll find that many stay. Your email marketing strategy is key to getting them to stay around and hear more of what you have to say. It’s key to getting them to sit through sales pitches and allow you to promote more of your products to them.

You Need to Show Your Authority and Credibility

Your list is where you will show why you’re an authority. It will show people why they should buy from you and not your competition, even if your products are slightly more expensive. Showing that you’re a credible source and a voice of authority will help to build trust. Customers will have more trust that your products are worth the money and will help them. They are more open to doing business with you.

There are other ways of building credibility and authority and you should use them but a good email marketing strategy is just as important. Your emails are going straight to the users and the users want to receive them. You’re already hitting the right audience and they have likely already decided you know what you’re talking about—they chose to sign up after all—this just need that extra push to buy.

The email list is also a great way to link out to blog posts that you’ve written or guest posts that you’ve done for other websites. This encourages people to check out your writing and share the posts if they find them useful. It can increase your reach and you can end up with more on your marketing list!

This means you really need to think about the content in your emails. It can’t just be a quick email to promote a product. You need to tell people why it’s good for them. Not every email should be about your products. You need to share information, tips and techniques that help your potential customers. Once they get to know you, they’re more likely to buy from you.

Build trust with your email lists

Share More About Your Product or Service

Sometimes there just isn’t enough space to tell people about all the benefits of a product or service. Your email marketing campaign gives that opportunity. You can create a series of emails that will cover the different aspects of a product or service. You will be able to give a different perspective and even share a review or two.

It’s also a chance for people to ask you questions directly. They can quickly hit reply on an email that you send to find out more. You get the chance to go into further detail. If you find that the same question is sent by numerous people, create a special email that goes out to the whole list. There may be many more with that same question who just don’t have the courage to contact you.

Try not to constantly promote your product or service. If you are, maybe you could offer a discount. Another great idea is to share when you have something new coming and let them know that they’re the first to see it ever. If you give an early discount for those on your list and they’ve gotten to know you enough, they’re more likely to buy it right away. Make it clear that there’s a time limit on them to encourage them to get it while it’s hot.

Getting a Good Balance in Emails

The trick to creating a good email marketing campaign is to get a good balance in the amount of emails that you send. Think about how often you receive emails from the lists that you have signed up to. You may get a regular newsletter from some people, once a week, or a post every now and then from someone. Have you ever gotten an email from someone that you don’t remember or rolled your eyes when you’ve seen a name pop up?

There will be people who want to hear more from you. At the same time, there will be people who only want to hear from you now and then. If they hear from you too often, they’ll unsubscribe and view you as spam. However, if you don’t post often enough, you run the risk of losing people because they simply can’t remember who you are.

How do you know how often to post? Start off with your best judgment. How often do you prefer to receive an email from someone? How often do others currently send them to you? From there, you can then talk to the people on your list. Ask them how often they would like to hear from you and if there are any topics that they want to hear more of from you. Remember they’re who you’re marketing to so the emails need to appeal to them!

Creating a good email marketing strategy is important. Give people something that is valuable—both in the free gift and the content of the emails. You can’t just constantly sell to them. Give them tips and show why you’re an authority. They’ll soon start to trust you and will be more open to giving you their hard-earned money.
