Twin Size Sleigh Beds
Upon hearing someone discuss sleigh beds, you may envision a sleigh gliding across the winter snow pulled by horses. The beds are designed to resemble sleighs with their curved headboards and footboards. Present day models do not include the wooden hand rails used in past times. A twin sleigh bed makes a perfect addition to the bedroom of your small child or in a room where there is no space for a large bed.
Twin sleigh beds -- as opposed to other sized beds such as king size sleigh beds -- are built with various types and styles of wood and more decorated beds are painted in bright colors to brighten up the bedroom. A standard twin sleigh bed design consists of wood, which may be more elaborately designed with grooves. Another style resembles a baby bed with wooden slats which serve as the headboard and footboard. The design options for the headboards and footboards are seemingly endless because the design can be as plain or as elaborate as the maker wants to create.
For a little girl, a white twin sleigh bed may blend well with her decoration style of choice. One idea for decorating the bedroom is to include a white chest of drawers and a white desk with the bed. For an overall effect, throw in a pink rug, bedding and some curtains and the room takes on a feminine touch. Twin size sleigh beds in any wood, darker tones or painted in primary colors will go along with the decorating style for the boy.
Another style of sleigh bed is one built with storage under the mattress. Some may have two drawers that open on each side of the bed, while others have three drawers. This cuts down on the need for extra storage space using dressers and chests of drawer. With drawer space underneath the mattress, this helps your child to reach the drawers better.
Sleigh beds add a uniquely elegant touch to any bedroom. They have a special design with the curved back top portion of the headboard and footboard. Twin beds with the sleigh style make a lovely addition to any room for a child or where there is little space for a bed.
