Types of Breakfast Bar Stools

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Bar stools are different from the normal type of stool in their height. The normal height for a bar stool is 30-36 inches while the dining chair is merely 18 inches. They are thus taller and most have a small seating allowance. They also have footrests and are usually backless or have a small back. Due to their narrowness, they are used in public places such as bars where there is likely to be a large crowd of patrons.

Bar stools were originally made for drinking pubs. The height of the common stool was adjusted or increased to fit the counter. Over time, the bar stool has been adapted for different purposes hence the arrival of the breakfast bar stools. A breakfast bar stool is usually placed at the kitchen counter in the home.

Breakfast bar stools are not only used at the breakfast table as the name misguidingly suggests. They can be used at parties for the children's table to make it easier for them to eat without a mess and to be able to play games in one area. They can also be used for watching festivities so that people at the back of the crowd are able to get a good look at what's going on. Such types of breakfast stools are common in pool halls. They are often referred to as spectator stools.

Due to the small space they occupy, one can sit a large number of people in a small space. That is why they are preferred in bars. Swivel bar stools are good as one can easily maneuver to talk to the person behind or on the side. They are also good when playing party games.

Breakfast bar stools come in different types. There are swivel bar stools, adjustable height stools, folding bar stools, leather bar stools, stools with a back, stools with no back and high stools for wine bars. They can be finished or unfinished and can be made with or without cloth coverings.

They can also be made with or without padding and with or without armrests. Floor-mounted breakfast bar stools are used where the owner does not want the chair to be moved. This will also prevent them from being stolen or being lifted to be used as a weapon. They are therefore common in bars to reduce violent bar brawls. Aluminum bar stools are preferred because they are light in weight hence can easily be transported.
