On turkey day you will need some drippings so plan on that. In sauce pan mix broth and onion and boil, then turn down to a simmer and let cook until you have 4 cups of mix. When done strain the broth. When almost reduced mix butter and flour in another pan and cook over low until combined and nicely tanned. Add strained broth to flour mix using a whisk. Orange Sweet Potatoes

A perfect example for limited oven space recipes for Thanksgiving this is made on the top of the stove. For 8 to 10 servings, take six large peeled sweet potatoes cut crosswise into ½ inch pieces, some lemon juice, one cup of orange juice and cold water each, 1 teaspoon grated orange peel, 1 cup brown sugar and one stick butter. Cold water for potato slices. Put the potato slices into the water and add 2 tablespoons lemon juice per quart to keep fresh. Combine orange juice and peel, I cup water, butter, sugar into a large frying pan and boil. When boiling add the drained potatoes, cover and bring back to boil then simmer until tender, approximately 30 minutes for one of the quick recipes for Thanksgiving.

A Variety Of Dressing Additions

There are many varieties of stuffing for recipes for Thanksgiving which are those additions to the turkey that are cooking inside the turkey cavities. However remember a stuffed turkey takes longer to cook and often the stuffing is not ready when the turkey is. A good alternative is to serve dressings which are typically cooked alongside the bird and not inside of it. If you do choose to stuff the turkey and the turkey is finished cooking before the stuffing you can always remove it from the turkey and finish it in the oven in a dish. Some alternates to the standard dry dressings are ground raw cranberries instead of the vegetables or substitute chopped green olives for the green pepper to make these recipes for Thanksgiving taste different.
