Battlefield 3 is out to prove a point. Considered to be the "thinking mans COD", Battlefield 3 uses state of the art technology to deliver superior visual quality, grand scale, and massive destruction. Bringing the battlefield alive, the new title in this genre defining series will be going head to head with Call of Duty to determine which is the grand daddy of the military first person shooters. How ever the industry calls it, what we get is two monstrous games in short succession. Good times for FPS gamers.
From the guys that invented the genre comes Rage, a sure to be groundbreaking first person shooter set in a post apocalyptic Earth in the aftermath of an asteroid impact. Emerging in the wastelands that remain with an oppressive government regime in effect, you're faced with an expansive world to explore, breakneck vehicle combat, and a truly visceral 1st person shooter adventure. Rage promises to deliver an experience like no other, and as a long time Id fanboy this title has got me terribly excited!
Skyrim is the next installment in the critically acclaimed Elder Scrolls series. The Nords have been wracked by civil war and unrest, and now threatened by the return of legendary dragons, you must face this harsh world and follow the adventure with the freedom to define it as you see fit. Offering some of the finest vistas, open world fantasy, and gameplay that the industry has seen, Skyrim will be pushing the boundaries of Role Playing adventure and will be a must for any fan of the genre.
