To update your kitchen or bathroom there are some subtle things that can be done to update the look with out having to spend a large amount of money such as some paint and new cabinet hinges. These subtle changes will go a long way with out spending too much money.

With hinges being a low cost repair the amount of possibilities that you can create among your cabinets is endless. You should always apply your paint and allow the cabinets to dry for a period of time before handling and attempting to install hardware such as the hinges and knobs or handles. All these items are perfect for creating a new look to your kitchen and bath.

You can purchase different types of hinges such as hinges that require three screws to hold the door in its place or you can purchase four screw hinges that will hold the door open or closed. Depending on the weight of the door will depend on what type of cabinet hinges you will need to install. Certain hinges will look better with specific types of wood grains and paints then other hinges would. Even though a hinge is not completely visible to the eye in your kitchen and bath there is a point at sometime that you must open the door to remove an item or place an item back and you will then see this hinge and either think that it flows with the remaining kitchen or bath or that it does not match the area that it is in. You will want to make sure that the color of your door knobs and the color of your hinges are somewhat of the same color to create the look that these items match and therefore coincide with one another. Choosing cabinet hinges that are meant to be hidden are the best for the most part, they are only able to be seen when open and closing and should therefore still match if not identical but close enough to appear as the best design possible.
