Urinary bleeding is due to infection on the urinary tract and it is one of the worst symptoms of bladder infections. On one hand, it is an indication of infection in the urethra when blood passes out before normal urine does. On the other hand, if urine comes out with blood from the start to the end, then it indicates the possibility that there is an infection in the kidneys or bladders. At times, the symptoms of urinary tract bleeding can be confused with the symptoms of genital herpes as they are rather similar in nature. Causes of urinary tract infection bleeding

Infection of the kidney. The kidney functions in controlling an individual's blood pressure level. It helps to purify the blood, separate the waste particles and this in turn produces urine. With an infected kidney, there is a high possibility of blood seeping into the urine. The tiny filter tissues in the kidneys get damaged and can result in worse complications such as kidney failure.
Urethritis which is known as infection on the urethra.
Cystitis which is known as infection on the bladder. Urinary bleeding occurs when the bladder is already infected or there are obstructions in the bladder outlet. Obstructions can come in the form of bladder stones.
Gonorrhoea is considered one of the other causes for urinary tract infection and bleeding. It is a bacterial infection caught during sexual intercourse.
Genital warts are another cause of urinary bleeding and infection, and are a virus infection caught during sexual intercourse.
Benign enlargement of the prostate is another cause of urinary tract infection bleeding.
Rare inflammatory lesions in the urinary tract can be considered as another reason. They come about when there is subjected trauma due to jogging and performing vigorous exercise.

Treatment of urinary bleeding

Treatment should be given with immediate effect when bleeding from urinary tract is obvious. This is because if urinary bleeding is not treated in time, it can lead to possible kidney failure. By following the few steps below, urinary tract bleeding can be stopped and cured effectively.

Antibiotics are usually prescribed to stop urinary bleeding. Some antibiotics used are nitrofurantoin and trimethopri-sulfamethoxamole. They are very effective in curing the infection.
Various medical tests will be performed to carry out a diagnosis of the infection. With this, proper medications can be given.
