Use Kayaking As A Fun Way To Build Your Upper Body

By Edited Aug 11, 2016 0 0

One of the cool things about kayaking in a small lake is that you can get an amazing upper body workout while actually having fun. Lifting weights is a good way to get your upper body toned but it can be so darn boring. Rowing yourself around in a small kayak can be a simple way to work your upper body.

Kayaking around a lake is a lot of fun and you can see the sights from angles not possible when landlocked. When you are taking in the sights you also get a great upper body work out by rowing yourself around in the kayak.

Kayaking is also a great way to get aerobic exercise. If you want to work your lungs aerobically and get the blood pumping rapidly then all you need to do is row rapidly. As you paddle hard your body, especially your upper body, will get an amazing workout.

You can buy inexpensive kayaks from many companies including Campmor. Campmor also sells some inflatable kayak styled rafts that work just as well to get exercise and work your upper body muscles as you tour the waterways.

A small hard sided kayak can easily be transported with most passenger cars including smaller cars such as the Kia Rio. You can easily buy mounting kits and stick it on top of your car safely and secure.

Kayaking can be a great exercise regardless of your age or physical conditioning. If you want to make it a family activity you can buy a 2 or 3 person canoe or kayak and then you can row around the lake with your wife and child. Your kid will not even realize they are exercising.

This is a great way to get your obese child to exercise but if your child is too obese you may be afraid to take him out onto the water in the same kayak as you are in.

Kayaking is a great way to work your upper body. If you are looking into wanting to get a more toned upper body but are reluctant to pay out the money for a new kayak then go camping by a lake. Many popular lake areas have businesses where you can rent a Kayak for the afternoon. Once you rent a kayak and try it out I am sure you will be hooked and be surfing online looking for a kayak to buy.
