Charlie Claywell

If I am not writing, I am reading or trying to remember how to use all the old wood working equipment from my shop class. I tend to write on history, American politics and old toys -- three very different subjects. At the heart of what I read and write is an desire to better undertstanding my country and the American experience.
My underlying goal is to educate, not irritate, and this is especially true with politics. I know politics can be very personal, but I do not feel the need to convince you I am right. If what I write causes you to pause and reflect for a moment, I am satisfied.
When it comes to toys, I love old mechanical ones -- and vintage board games. I don't collect as much as I used to (I'm in a downsizing mode), but when I come across a unique toy or game, I usually take photos, research the item and then write about it.
Most of my musing on history can be found on my blog: www.charlierclaywellwriter.com.
