I was born and raised in a small town (well, if you want to call a population of 300,000 small) along the Texas Gulf Coast, known locally as the "Texas Riviera".  Currently, I'm in the middle of a career change, moving from Information Technology to Accounting.  As of late, I find myself reading up more and more about personal finance and investing and, in general, everything having to do with money.  Obviously I like to write, but I also enjoy hiking and biking, stargazing, playing chess, listening to music and sampling wines.  In my spare time you can find me busy with my side-business selling used furniture which I find at thrift stores, garage sales and neighborhood curb sides.
It is my sincere hope that my articles will bring not only informative help and helpful information to my readers, but also a little leisurely pleasure.  My intention is to contribute to the InfoBarrel knowledge base by writing on a number of topics spanning multiple fields of knowledge, however my focus will be on personal finance and money management.  Well, that's about it.  If you find any of my articles to be helpful or a pleasure to read, please express your sentiments by liking or commenting or otherwise taking some sort of action.  Thank you, and have a thoroughly wonderful day.

How To Make More Money By Leaving Your Bank

This article demonstrates how it is better to bank with credit unions rather than large banks, and proceeds to give practical information on where and how to find credit unions that offer superb rates for checking and savings accounts, rates that are far superior to those offered at the big banks. Also, the article provides a work-around to a particularly pesky condition required by many credit unions in order to qualify for the higher rates.
