I'm an avid do-it-yourselfer and a self-reliant student of life from the Midwest.  I spent the 1980s in a back-to-the-land lifestyle in the north woods and the experience has stayed with me.  Sometimes I spend my vacation camping or in a cabin with no electricity or running water, just to get back to basics.

I'm a professional writer with many years of publication under my belt.  Getting paid to write hasn't dampened my enthusiasm for it at all :-)
