Miladykatherine

I am a retired, slightly over-the-hill, semi-grandmotherly type of lady.   I said 'slightly' over-the-hill - not 'one foot in the grave' over-the-hill.  I am 55 right now.  I still have some 'spunk' in a jar on my bedside table that I can resort to when times warrant it.

All of this internet/website stuff is new to me and, I will freely confess, it intimidates me quite prodigiously.   Miladykatherine's Avatar is me peeking into the internet from the safety and security of my home and wondering, "How in the world am I going to fit into a high tech world at my age?"

Miladykatherine's personality is actually two different personas.  One (Katherine) is the retired, rigid, ex-law enforcement/Internal Affairs, 'I don't put up with any crap', supercop-type person that I spent 27 years perfecting and hiding behind.  The other, and probably the most accurate, is Miladykatherine,  the one that was hiding behind the supercop/Internal Affairs persona.   She is a softer, gentler, kinder, more timid,  'push-over' (according to my son).   She does not like and tries to avoid conflict, where the supercop will jump up and run to meet it face-on.     She was an abused child and an abused wife much earlier in her life.  She spent almost a year and a half at the women's prison as a counselor and desires to help other Domestic Violence victims.   Children are a soft spot with her and hold a special place in her heart.

The big question is - can Miladykatherine figure out all this complicated internet stuff without going positively insane.   Remember, gentle reader, Miladykatherine was born before the computer revolution hit the commercial markets.   I did not grow up with all these little gadgets.  When I was a child, the Barbie dolls were still held together by rubberbands and the Beatles were just thinking about coming over to American soil.   That does not make me 'Crypt-Keeper' old - but it does make all this new stuff a little more difficult for me.   What the world is doing now, is what I was watching on Science Fiction movies when I was a little girl.
