Our society has been sending greetings since the 15th Century and in this time they have taken many different forms. The ancient Chinese and Egyptians sent good will wishes and papyrus scrolls, the British sent hand made paper greetings on Valentines Day and the Germans printed designs onto woodcuts, but since the turn of the industrial revolution, popularity for sending greetings has risen and now we send them along with gifts for all sorts of occasions, but why?
