Essential Vitamin C
Vitamin C, a water-soluble nutrient, is one of the building blocks of good health. It is not produced by the body and must be ingested from food or supplements (e.g. tablet, capsule). Studies have shown that it helps ward off diseases, fight cancer, increase resistance to stress and infection, hasten healing of wounds, protect arteries from damage, etc. It was also found to be a good antioxidant. The daily recommended dosage might range from 250 mg to 1500 mg, up to 8000 mg when there are symptoms of cold. Higher dosage can be taken to fight off cancer cells.
