Venetia
Today, 11-Jan-2011, is my first day here at Info Barrel. I am looking forward to being part of this community and will appreciate & reciprocate any help that comes my way. First up I will admit to never writing on-line before & do not have a clue about a lot of things that are noted just in this sign up stage.
The bulk of my working life, which started at 15 years old, has consisted of bookkeeping & office managerial duties with sprinklings of go-to-advice for the younger generations I encountered whilst living & working in the French Quarter of New Orleans for well over 13 years. 8 years before that were spent in Baton Rouge, LA which, in it's own right, has great Blues Clubs & Musicians. Three, for sure, in the mid '80's.
Now, (at 52 where DID it go?) I have decided to explore my artistic side & hope not to fall "flat on my face." I speak figuratively because literally (and I know this from experience) BEAU COUP PAIN usually follows!
My greatest achievement in this life has been raising my only child. He is a SGT in the ARMY with a bit over 11 years under his belt and has just returned from a 4th tour of duty in Iraq. I have a wonderful daughter-in-law and three fantastic grandchildren.
Hobbies include music, photography, reading, walking, yoga & much to my chagrin "late for everything". Not fashionably late or intentionally late - just late. I would hate to think I have a tad of passive-agressive behavior going on but there it is. Is being late for everything a hobby? Think not. Hum.
My latest endeavor, since surviving Hurricane Katrina & leaving NOLA a year later, is acquiring the oldest house I could possibly stumble across in Washington, LA (circa 1820) a year & half ago & have since been "fixing it up" to live in. That is a story unto itself.
I hope everyone enjoys my introduction and I wish everyone a Happy & Prosperous 2011!
Peace y'all,
Please read, comment, critique, and enjoy my work listed below.
