The Oasis Plan - Build Manmade Rivers and Lakes in the Middle East!

Some pessimists assert that a lasting peace in the Middle East is not possible. They claim that "those people have been fighting for hundreds of years, there's nothing we can do about it". Such an attitude, however, is not only factually false, it denies the idea that human beings are made imago viva Dei - in the image of God. A lasting peace is indeed possible, but it requires a radically different approach than has been taken by the Bush and Obama administrations.

A New Source of Water: Nuclear Desalination

There is no shortage of water on the planet; it covers two thirds of the surface of the earth. And, if we were to take a rational and scientific approach to the question, there need be no shortage of fresh water either. Nuclear powered desalination can provide abundant, fresh water for a growing population. John F. Kennedy, shortly before he was assassinated, created a task force to investigate the use of nuclear power to create a new source of fresh water for the nation.

"New" Sources of Water for North America

Away with the idea of water scarcity! Down with the dismal doom-sayers who claim we have no more sources of water, and the best we can hope for is "conservation"! The truth is, there is plenty of water, in abundance, if we only look in the right places. And, there are plans, already designed, engineered, and ready to go decades ago, that would double the amount of surface freshwater in the lower 48 states of the USA, and would mean millions of additional acres of irrigated land in Canada and Mexico.

How Can World Peace Be Achieved?

In order to have durable war avoidance, we must find a common interest among the sovereign nations of the world. The common aims of mankind include economic progress - the raising of the standard of living for all, which means infrastructure to provide fresh water, transportation, and power. Economist Lyndon LaRouche has proposed a World Landbridge to this end, based on the principle that the new name for peace is development.
