Hello world, my name is Erwin Roodselaar and I have been a passionate snowboarder since my first snowboarding trip to Avoriaz in the French Alps back in 1996. In the past twenty winter seasons I have travelled far and wide through the European Alps and I have visited over fifty different snowboard - and ski stations.
I used to work for the Action Sports department of the Nike European Headquarters in my hometown of Hilversum in the Netherlands for over 10 years. Back in 2001 I started as the first ever intern for Nike ACG and after graduating at the University of Amsterdam in 2002 I continued working for Nike ACG all the way up to 2009 when the Nike ACG brand was discontinued. In 2008 I already started working for Nike 6.0 and continued my involvement with action sports in general and snowboarding in specific.
Working with international snowboarding and freeskiing athletes like Sverre Liliequist (Sweden), Richard Permin (France), Mirjam Jaeger (Switzerland), Andreas Hatveit (Norway), Henning Marthinsen (Norway), Rudi Kroll (Austria), Matthieu Imbert (France), Jaime Puigdengoles (Spain), Eva Walkner (Austria), Lorraine Huber (Austria) as their unofficial team manager (things are sometimes a bit political at big companies) I also organized various ski and snowboarding trips professionally for photo- and video-shoots.
In 2010 I stopped working at Nike and decided to become self employed in order to maximize the days on snow in the winter season.
In short, I have gathered a huge amount of experience putting together snowboarding and ski trips through the European Alps both personally and professionally and I would like to share all my tips, tricks and travel hacks with you in order for you to put together your own customized snowboarding and/or skiing Eurotrip efficiently, maximizing the fun/budget ratio.
This coming winter season (2015/16) it is my ambition to spend the whole winter in the European Alps, visiting every possible ski resort available (big and small) and start a blog called 'Death By Selfie Stick' on which I share with you secret spots and local knowledge of all resorts visited.
