J. Stuart Rahrer has been an author, consultant and therapist for childhood, adolescent and adult addiction and behavioral problems. He is currently a resident at the Covington Manor Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Stu is presently a featured writer for The Loft Publications Company in Churubusco, Indiana

 

 Stu holds a bachelor's and master's degree from Indiana University and has completed doctoral course work in administration and counseling at the University of Arizona. He is a senior level National Certified Addiction Counselor (NCAC II) in association with the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselor (CADAC II) in the state of Indiana.

 

Stu has directed several inpatient and outpatient adolescent treatment programs and coordinated a number of alcohol-drug education and prevention projects. He has also conducted various training workshops and educational programs about child, adolescent and adult addiction and behavioral problems for parents, child care givers, educators, direct service providers, case managers, and addiction, mental health and corrections professionals. He is presently completing 2 books to be published in 1999, including a parenting book, Seven Sensible Strategies for Drug-Free Kids, for the Child And Family Press, an imprint of The Child Welfare League Of America.
